Welcome again. I extend my love and prayers in Christ to you through the heart of Hope in Today Ministries. I also extend my appreciation to FGGAM; and also to you, as I believe I speak also on behalf of Dewey and FGGAM, that I appreciate your time in reading this. Once again, let me begin with I am happy to write to you today, because I believe in your value as a child of God. Whether you know it or not yet, you are loved by God.
From Part One:
- The preparation to our heart to change begins with God’s loving care…
- As with any passion we feel strongly about, there is a history to the way we believe…
We who believe in Christ for our Salvation are called Christians. I am not the only one who has been deeply affected by fellow Christians; and our individual positions that differ so broadly. Yet, I write to you today, because I believe the Lord pruned that out of my heart by a Scripture that I saw on a face book friend’s post last night.
Matthew 7:3 ESV
Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
Guess who I thought of when I read this? ME!!! I thought of me and I felt UNCOMFORTABLE!
Pruning is uncomfortable –Think of a beautiful peach tree that is bearing fruit, but over time if the branches on that tree are not tended to, that tree will begin producing less and less fruit. It is hard to cut off a living limb of a tree, but if it is growing in the wrong direction, then it must be pruned for the good of the whole tree –and for the good of the fruit that should be produced!
As a nation, we Christians are being pruned in public –as the world is being humbled to the feet of Jesus perhaps for the very first time in the life of some non-believers. We need the Word of God living and active in our life; and then we can be the Light of Christ to help guide the world to a God who is Love and Unity –not a God of division and bickering.
Galatians 5:22-23King James Version (KJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Children of God, we are a child of God when we believe, but let us not begin to think more highly of ourselves than we ought. Humble yourself before the Lord; and pray in your secret closet for the things you have already been pruned for that those around you may not have known yet from God.
God is an amazing and living God. And God alone is God. We sure do love HIM a lot, with all our heart, mind and soul. He is our blood and our life! But, we have to remember that our passions are intertwined together in this world; and our purpose is to be the light to the world –not a crowbar.
As passion is –passion does, but we have to surrender to the glory of God; and place our complete trust in Him with our Country, just like a mother has to surrender to the glory of God and place her complete trust in God with our daughters, when her bow asks for her hand in marriage.
