Vice President-elect Mike Pence said Sunday that Mitt Romney is under “active consideration” to serve as secretary of State in a Donald Trump administration.
“We’re also talking to a lot of others and you see the list today, folks coming in — obviously Rudy Giuliani’s come in,” Priebus told ABC’s “This Week.”
Incoming Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) is promising a “tough vetting” of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), President-elect Donald Trump’s pick to be attorney general.
“Let’s look at this man’s life. I sure wish people would judge me on my entire life, and I know that you and others out there watching wish the same,” Priebus said on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday.
“If he doesn’t nominate a mainstream candidate we’re going to go at him with everything we’ve got… Because this is so, so important,” Schumer said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
“I know this is a very disappointing time for people that did not see their candidate win in this national election. I know that this is a very anxious time for some people,” Pence said on “Fox News Sunday.”
“I’m very confident that the president-elect and his … family are going to work with best legal minds in this country and create the proper separation from their business enterprise during his duties as president of the United States,” Pence said on CBS’s “Face The Nation.”
Incoming White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus on Sunday vowed that Donald Trump will avoid conflicts of interests with his business while serving as president.
“Donald Trump has already proven where he’s going,” Ellison, who is running to become the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, said on CBS’s “Face The Nation.”
Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) on Sunday said Democrats will try to work with the incoming president but will push back if he doesn’t keep his promises to the middle class.
“We sort of nibbled around the edges … . That’s what we need and that’s what I aim to do as leader. We’re going to have a very, very strong and bold economic platform and message,” Schumer said on ABC’s “This Week.”
Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt (R) on Sunday predicted that Donald Trump’s administration will severely limit the influence of Washington in the coming years.
