Closer Than A Friend…

Father, thank you for being a good Father, a friend to sinners. That would be every one of us, for we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God, according to Romans 3:23.
Today, for every wounded heart across this globe- we pray healing. Wherever and however the wound was inflicted, we thank you for the grace to forgive one another. You said in Matthew 6 to pray like this: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
You even go further in verse 14 oh God, and say: For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. We are all sinners and are in need of mercy, according to your Word.
Oh God, let the healing balm of Gilead flow freely today all across this globe, we pray. Let reconciliation begin, as we all see ourselves in the same place-in need of a savior. Jesus friend of sinners, thanks for being a friend to the world. Thank you for being a friend that sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). Transform us all into more of your likeness we pray, Amen.
