Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
Pastor Dewey Note: Beware of FAKE NEWS, FAKE GOSPEL! Please be careful about stuff on Facebook and Twitter…all of social media has changed news reporting!!! I started in news in the late 70’s at the Minnesota State News Network. I was trained there and at Brown Institute. I also served as an aide to WFRN News Director Marv Boone for several years while I was at the station as VP of Marketing. WFRN, in South Bend/Elkhart, Indiana, is one of the most successful Christian stations ever in America. I also directed the news department at KKIM Christian radio in Albuquerque for nearly 8 years. At FGGAM we are very careful as to what is the truth and in checking our sources. Do not be fooled by a lot of the junk on Facebook! It is embarrassing at times what Christians are presenting as the truth! We are up most mornings by 3am going over the days news. We do not report a lot things that are posted on Facebook, because many times they are lies. Sadly, many believe them. Don’t be fooled.
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
I never thought I would have to discuss FAKE NEWS!
It is a deep tragedy that has taken place in our Country when we have so much FAKE GOSPEL and FAKE NEWS going on and many ‘so called Christians’ bite into it!
We will work hard here for our Lord to always bring you the TRUTH! We are always moved by God as to what to post! Amen!
I am also very concerned on the quality of the news reporting by the secular media.
With Facebook facing criticism that it played a role in disseminating fake news during the U.S. presidential election, its chief operating officer said it’s an important problem, but one whose impact has been overstated. ‘There have been claims that it swayed the election, and we don’t think it swayed the election,’ Sheryl Sandberg told Savannah Guthrie in an exclusive interview on TODAY. ‘But we take that responsibility really seriously. And we’re looking at things, like working with third parties, helping to label false news, doing the things we can do to make it clearer what’s a hoax on Facebook.’ Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg outlined steps last month that included improving the ability to detect misinformation, making it easier to report hoaxes and false stories and labeling stories other users have flagged as false.
