Hurrying Hope

Psalm 39:7 And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in You. <NLT>

Doesn’t it seem like the Christmas decorations and lights go up earlier every year? The stores were putting things out in October here. Christmas is the season of hope.

So many people are hopeless, and know in their hearts that Jesus is our only hope, they want Christmas to come and perhaps things will look up for them.

Ephesians 2:12 In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from God’s people, Israel, and you did not know the promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope. <NLT>

The Father sent His Son to be our hope and our life. He wants the best for us….His best.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. <NKJV>

He sent His Son so we could be reconciled to Him and have eternal life.

John 17:3 And this is the way to have eternal life—to know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the One You sent to earth. <NLT: Jesus talking to the Father>

That’s why we try to hurry the Christmas season. We know in our hearts that He is our hope and that we need a relationship with Him. We need Him to be our Father.

Romans 1:19,20 For the truth about God is known to them instinctively. God has put this knowledge in their hearts. From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see His invisible qualities–His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God. <NLT>

My husband and I talk about how we have been without God, and we’ve been with God, and being with God is better. To have the wonderful gift of communing with the Creator of the Universe is the greatest gift of all. Thank You Jesus for reconciling us to the Father!

If you haven’t given your heart to Jesus, I encourage you to take the step your heart is calling you to do. Just tell Him that you want to know Him, and to be His and ask Him to come into your heart and be your LORD. He will, and you will be so glad you did!

This Christmas, may you receive the Father’s best…His precious Son, Jesus Christ. The best gift of all!

2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! <NKJV>

Psalm 71:5 O Lord, You alone are my hope. I’ve trusted You, O LORD, from childhood. <NLT>
