We continue this morning our sermon series on “Waiting for Christmas” It is based on Luke 2:21-38. I pray that you have read it by now. We left off last week by stating, “Only the Messiah can bring the real comfort and joy that all people need!” In verse 27, you will notice that the Holy Spirit prompted Simeon to go to the temple courts at just the right time on just the right day that Joseph and Mary were bringing the baby to the Temple. Baby Jesus was about 6 weeks old at that time. The moment Simeon held that baby and looked in his face, he knew that God had kept His promise!
