The Recycled Prayer Cloth, Miracles From The Scanlin House…
Today, I wanted to share with permission another writing by Joan Scanlin about the miracles from the Scanlin House. On a Christmas scroll tied with a gold shiny ribbon, Joan passed to everyone that came Christmas 2010 this writing. Be blessed.
On June 21, 2010 I went to the Medical Center to have a day surgery procedure. The night before in our Sunday evening service Pastor Carter and the congregation prayed over many prayer cloths, as many as six or more. I didn’t feel to ask for one for myself. On the way home, I questioned myself, why did I feel this way? Don’t get me wrong, I am a strong believer in them. I just didn’t feel like asking for one.
The next day as I was checking in for surgery, the nurse gave me a johnnie to put on and I did. Guess what was on the front? A prayer cloth, a small piece of green fabric with a large pin. I had to laugh. The nurse came in and asked, what is on your johnnie? I said it is a prayer cloth. She said just a minute and I will take it off. I put my hand over it and said “oh no soap and water can wash away the power of prayer. When I went into the operating room the doctor whispered to the nurse, what’s that on her Johnnie? She replied, It’s a prayer cloth and don’t touch it!
Do you think God has a sense of humor? Oh yes. When I first saw the prayer cloth on my johnnie, I laughed and I think He was laughing too. What do you think the chances of getting that one johnnie with all the patients that come and go in that huge hospital? Praise His name.
God always walks with us. He is so precious to me. I can live without all the ruffles in my life, but I know I could never live without His presence in my life. He walks with me everyday.
I rejoice in the big things God answers for me, but the little things, like the prayer cloth, on the right day at the right time, those things are precious to me.

Father, thank you for the power in prayer. We thank you that you are concerned about every aspect of our lives. Today, for every person around this globe that is in need of prayer, we join our faith with theirs. For you said it is not by might nor by power but by my spirit. (Zechariah 4:6)
God, thank you for showing your glory on the earth today through the power of prayer. You said in Matthew 18:18-20 Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.
