Press Conference This Morning to Mark Sanctity of Life and Unity Day in Santa Fe

WHAT:    Press Conference for new group, New Mexico for Ethical Medical Treatment (NM EMT).  New Mexico Alliance for Life is partnering with family service, disability, adoption, advocacy, religious, health care, and human rights organizations, forming New Mexico for Ethical Medical Treatment.  NM EMT seeks to address the disparities and inconsistencies in medical care and lack of ethical medical treatment that should be available to all New Mexico patients.

WHY: Legislation is needed to protect all individuals who currently or may have been discriminated against in the past.  NM EMT wants state legislators to address these inconsistencies in our medical ethics and medical treatment of all patients, including newborn children, infants born alive during abortions, individuals with disabilities and the elderly. These measures are needed to prevent abuse and ensure medical care practitioners and hospitals are equipped and trained to offer indiscriminate care.
