NM Congressman Pearce Appointed to Mexico-U.S. Interparliamentary Group

FGGAM NEWS just received this new release from Congressman Pearce’s office:

PEARCE APPOINTED TO MEXICO-U.S. INTERPARLIAMENTARY GROUP

Washington, DC (February 9, 2017) Congressman Steve Pearce today was appointed by Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-WI) to serve on the Mexico-U.S. Interparliamentary Group, an organization that is comprised of delegates from both countries for the purpose of preserving and strengthening their bilateral relationship.

“I am honored to have been chosen to serve with my colleagues in Congress as we work to uphold an enduring relationship between the United States and Mexico. As representative of a district with nearly 180 miles of the southern border, I understand the considerable benefits a bilateral relationship has on the growth and prosperity of our state and of our nation. I look forward to providing my firsthand knowledge of border issues that affect New Mexico’s safety, security, and prosperity, and will do my part to ensure the best interests of the United States are upheld,” stated Rep. Pearce.

The Mexico-U.S. Interparliamentary Group was established in 1961 to encourage a comprehensive discussion between the United States and Mexico on issues that affect border trade, security, and international crime.
