This morning we continue our sermon series from Matthew 5:1-12. Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth, verse 5. Meekness is not the same thing as weakness.! The word used for meek describes a horse that has been broken. It means ‘Power Under Control’. It also carries with it, the idea of sincere humility. Actually, Jesus is referencing something that God had already spoken to the Psalmist in the OT. Psalm 37:1-11. A little while the wicked will be no more. Though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace.” Please now listen to my podcast.
