The Significance of Prayer

Believer, you have the most important instrument which has ever been offered unto man.   It is an instrument of praise and of power.  It is prayer.

Prayer is of great consequence!   Prayer makes stuff take place globally!   Prayer is a significant component of an intimate relationship with God in Jesus Christ.  Prayer is motivated by love and energized by the Holy Spirit.   Prayer is absolutely imperative in the life of any believer who wants to experience God.

Jesus lived a life of notable prayer.   When one looks closely into His total life, as revealed in the Gospels, you must come to the deduction that of all the enormous good that He did, His life of prayer was supreme.   He Himself was the personification of the Apostle Paul’s words before he penned them.   “Pray without ceasing.”   For it was out of His life of prayer that it was revealed unto Him what His Father was doing, and saying.      “Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. (John 5:19)

The Son took His signal to speak and to act out of His intimacy with the Father.   And the Holy Spirit, with Him and in Him, was the driving force of His activities.

Now, having said that, one should understand the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of prayer.   He is the Master-Intercessor!   Yet, most import to us, He breathes a spirit of prayer into every believer who will pray.   He instigates the believer to have an attraction for prayer.   He schools the believer how to pray.   And this is a school of prayer that lasts a lifetime and gives support to the believer’s sanctification.   Are you attending classes?   Come On, Church, Pray On!
