Let us today start a sermon series on Mothers! As we approach Mother’s Day, please turn to John 19:25-27. There are many places in the Bible where we could look and find guidance about how to love our Mothers. In this one small section of scripture, Jesus gives us a great insight into the way our earthly Mothers are to be regarded and cared for. Can you imagine how Mary must have felt as she witnessed the crucifixion from the foot of the cross?
The picture is of my Mom, Ruth Irene Moede. The best Mom ever! This picture is from her High School graduation. She taught me so very much! She passed into Glory in Jan. 1995 at the age of 64 of cancer. My Dad, Wally, had passed away 2 years earlier at the age of 64 of a heart attack. I think Mom’s cancer was brought on by a broken heart.
