President Trump on Wednesday renewed a six-month waiver that will keep the U.S. embassy in Israel in Tel Aviv, instead of Jerusalem, a White House official confirmed.
Every president has signed such a waiver ever since Congress passed the Jerusalem Embassy Act in 1995. Trump faced a June 1 deadline to renew the waiver or let it expire.
