It’s my honor and privilege to wish a happy five years to For God’s Glory Alone Ministries.
I connected with founder, Dewey Moede, on social media several years ago. I’m a pastor’s wife, in ministry as a speaker and writer, so I formed heart-felt respect for Dewey’s vision and mission. Like me, he desires to reach the nations for Christ. And FGGAM is a great avenue to accomplish a portion of that calling—to boldly proclaim the name of Jesus.
When the Lord called me to write in 2014, my blog tagline became “Expressing scriptural truths as life happens.” Yet, God also showed me another important aspect on my writing journey as He spoke to me one day. “If I can’t lay down my own glory, God will never get His.”
You see, the enemy would love for me, and you, to rob God of His glory. Satan loves it when God’s people strive to make our own name renown. I told my husband, my writing mentor, and my close friends this: “if I lose sight of giving God the glory and taking it on for myself, then, please, rein my heart back in. My heart’s desire is to point to Jesus and God’s glory in every spoken and written word.”
And I told the Lord I would quit speaking and writing if I veered off track in keeping Him center stage and in the spotlight—always! It’s about Jesus, not about Karen Girl Friday.
So, when Dewey invited me to be a contributing writer at FGGAM, I said yes. Not only because of who Dewey is, but because of Who God is. And I love the ministry name, it really is For God’s Glory Alone. For none other deserves it.
Some of my favorite Scriptures about God’s glory:
- Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name; deliver us, and atone for our sins, for your name’s sake! Psalm 79:9
- Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! Psalm 96:3
- Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts! Psalm 96:8
- [ To Your Name Give Glory ] Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness! Psalm 115:1
- I am the Lord; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to carved idols. Isaiah 42:8
Happy Anniversary FGGAM! Let’s all keep giving God the glory in our lives and ministries, and boldly proclaim the name of Jesus Christ in a culture that wants to mute our voice.
