Father, thank you that you are a God of mercy and grace. Empower us to live according to Your Word that says in Matthew 16:14-15. For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Help us to give away what you have freely given us-mercy.
This morning it makes me think of the words of Mother Teresa. People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway. If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway. What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway. Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway. The final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.
Today, we choose to obey your Word. Thank you that we can be free because we have chosen to forgive. Thank you for healing any residue of pain left from the wounds inflicted in your people across this globe. Thank you that you make it about us and it’s not about them anyway. We forgive. Amen
Have a blessed day beautiful people, walk in forgiveness.
