DON’T THROW ROCKS! Have you ever heard that one? I remember as a little girls throwing rocks at cars on a two-lane highway from the cover a small group of trees. It was great fun until a driver stopped and scolded my cousins and me (as he should have!) When my youngest was in elementary school I got a call from the brand new principle on the very FIRST day that he and classmate got busted throwing rocks at each other after school let out. It was handled and they never had another rock fest.

Throwing rocks and stones usually isn’t good…but maybe there is an exception? Watch this “Insights”* video based on 1 Peter 2:4 and see.

*”Insights” videos are meant to share help viewers see Bible and use it as a source for practical Christianity. Sometimes it is difficult to translate the stories and lessons of the Bible into everyday life, but when we see examples (at least for me) it helps the light bulb of understanding shine bright in our hearts and minds. In turn, we are better able to let our lights shine bright for Jesus as encouraged in Matthew 5:15-16: “No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven,” HCSB.

Practical Christianity can be shared by the greatest of theologians as well as the purest-of -heart-everyday-believer who is just as inspired by God’s Word in their everyday life despite no formal training. Practical Christianity comes about when we seek God with our mind and serve Jesus with our hearts. My sincere hope is that my Insights video will help feed minds and inspire hearts to be the best Christian possible. No one is perfect, but the more we try to imitate Jesus, the closer we will come showing Him to others.
