Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was very busy on Monday, meeting with visiting UN  Secretary General Antonio Guterres, American TV comedian Conan O’Brien and wrapping up his day with a major address to mark the 50th anniversary of Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria.

Hamas Restores Ties with Iran, Prepares for War

Yehiyeh Sinwar, the newly appointed leader of the Islamist terror militia Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, announced on Monday that relations with Iran had been patched up and Teheran had resumed funding Hamas, which he added would be directly injected into preparations for a military conflict with Israel. Also on Monday, Major General Herzi Halevi, chief of the IDF Intelligence Directorate, told visiting UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres that Hezbollah, Iran’s proxy terror militia, is solidifying its control of Lebanon, threatening Israel from the north.

MDA Donates Food for Moslem Holiday

The Magen David Adom (MDA) organization’s first-aid station in Mas’ada on the Golan Heights launched a campaign in recent days to collect food donations for Moslem families in need as the Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) approaches on Thursday. The baskets of donated food will be distributed to needy families in Mas’ada and the nearby villages of Majdal Shams, Ein Kuniya and Bukata.

Israeli Lawmakers Have Successful Trip to South Africa

A delegation of Knesset members recently visited South Africa and held meetings with officials, but not lawmakers, from the majority African National Congress (ANC) party as well as MPs from the largest opposition party, the Democratic Alliance, as well as smaller parties. ANC MPs rejected a request to meet with the Israeli delegation, in keeping with oft-repeated opposition to Israel from members of the Party. However, the delegation members expressed satisfaction with the trip, which also included meetings with mayors of several large cities and leaders of South Africa’s Jewish community.
