Father, people’s lives are being turned upside down from the devastation these storms, hurricanes, etc. are bringing to our land. As I read and re-read Your Word this morning petitioning You and thanking You for mercy on our world, I am drawn to Isaiah 59.
Father, forgive us for shedding innocent blood (Isiah 59:7). Forgive the crookedness of mankind that made crooked paths, so that there is no justice. (59:8) You are a God of justice. Lord, please send help from on high.
You said when the enemy comes in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. (verse 19). You said God you would turn back justice (verse 4). Thank you for being a God of justice.
You are a covenant keeping God. Your hand is not shortened that it cannot save, nor is Your ear heavy that it cannot hear (verse 1). Father, thank you for hearing all the prayers that have gone up to Your throne room on behalf of what is happening in our land.
All across this globe today, we join our faith and speak peace to every storm. We ask You oh God, to quiet the storm both in the atmosphere and in the personal lives of Your people.
You said to fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
Thank you God for your covenant promises. We keep our eyes fixed on You and declare we will see Your mighty hand of intervention for your people. Amen
