“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. . . But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Matthew 5:10-12, 44)
Precious LORD of love, grace, and mercy, teach Your children in America how to overcome evil with good. Help us to live in peace with all people. Make us to truly be Your peacemakers so that we will be called children of the Most High God. I confess LORD, I need Your help in loving those who are my personal enemies, and maybe more so, the enemies of my homeland, the United States. In this moment, I desire to focus all my Spirit-led praying on North Korea.
In spite of their government leader’s evil ways and threats, I ask that You would bless them, even as You empower me to forgive them. Father, You have been so gracious and merciful in preserving America through our many armed conflicts in our history. Please help us to avoid war, which will surely kill millions, by giving our leaders the wisdom to deal in better ways with this rogue nation of North Korea.
If the enemy will not bend from their evil plans, and war becomes unavoidable, I ask that You would bless our President, the Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and all other necessary national leaders with the wisdom to know the right ways to protect and defend our great nation of America. Watch over all who serve in our military, plus those in civilian support. Draw each one to Yourself, so that in time they will be able to make a rational decision to follow all the days of their lives.
May I conclude with asking that Your Kingdom come. Your will be done, here, as it is in heaven as You deliver us from the evil one, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
