Thanks For The Beautiful Pumpkins…
Good morning beautiful people. This morning Maisie Grace and I are a little late in our prayers together. My precious granddaughter and I pray for China, Reggie Littlejohn (Women’s Rights Without Frontiers) every time she comes to stay the night. She always smiles big when I ask her if she’s praying for Reggie. She is precious along with my other 6 grandchildren. Let’s just face it grandparents just brag. Everyone thinks their grandchildren are just the best, the cutest, the most intelligent and over the top. It is just the way it is. You know it and so do I. I couldn’t help but re-post this prayer from a few years ago this morning. Let’s thank God for these precious pumpkins.
I love fall time in Maine. I love how the leaves change so many pretty colors and pumpkins are everywhere. I traveled north to visit my daughter, son-in-law and their pumpkin, Emmett. Children are such a blessing from the Lord (Psalm 127:3), they truly are. I chuckle this morning as I look at his picture and thank the Lord for his little life. As I watched him crawl and say mamma and dadda it made this grandmothers heart leap for joy.
I couldn’t help myself on the journey home as I looked at all the pumpkins in the yards and thanked the Lord for the picture I have etched in the forefront of my mind that this talented photographer Ashley took of this little pumpkin. I pray the Lord continues to bless the work of her hands and may her business prosper. Children are precious and their lives are so important to God.
I have so much to be thankful for and so do you. Sometimes the journey doesn’t look quite like what we thought it would be, but the Bible is clear; In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you (Thessalonians 5:18).
I was challenged a few weeks ago for seven days to journal three things every day I was thankful for. I looked forward to it and every day penned what came to mind. I felt a joy that’s hard to put into words. Thankfulness outweighs negative circumstances. Paul knew what he was talking about when he wrote the book of Thessalonians.
This morning I challenge you, what do you have to be thankful for? What harvest of blessings can you pen for the next seven days? Let the thankfulness begin. It will change your perspective, it will change your life.
Let’s pray:
Father, I thank you that this is the day the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. Lord, we thank you for our salvation. (If you haven’t asked Him in your heart then today’s your day. He will surely come in and forgive you of everything if you ask and give you a new beginning).
Thank you, oh God, for life. Thank you for our children and all our grandchildren. They are such a blessing. Thank you for a harvest of souls across this globe for your glory God.
Thank you for the beauty of the fall. Thank you for the pumpkins, especially the one’s that are our grandchildren. Thank you for beautiful Maine. Oh, life is good.
Be blessed today beautiful people and remember to be thankful. You have a lot to be thankful for. Journal some of your thankfulness today.
Bless a child today.
Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow.
