1 Kings 18:41-46 (NKJV): Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” 42 So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees, 43 and said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.” So he went up and looked, and said, “There is nothing.” And seven times he said, “Go again.” 44 Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’” 45 Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel. 46 Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
Do you see that? Elijah prayed for it to rain after there had been a drought on the land. While he was praying, he had expectations of the prayer to be answered. Not always do our answers result in what we are looking for exactly, but, we should have expectations that the prayer will be answered.
How do we get answers to our prayers? We need to be praying within God’s Will.
John 9:30-33 (NKJV): The man answered and said to them, “Why, this is a marvelous thing, that you do not know where He is from; yet He has opened my eyes! 31 Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him. 32 Since the world began it has been unheard of that anyone opened the eyes of one who was born blind. 33 If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing.”
I had mentioned before about how prayer transforms us, it doesn’t change God’s mind. Prayer helps us to grow in Faith. It helps us to understand what His Will is. It gets us The Word (answers to prayer can be found in The Word).
The most important thing about Prayer is that we should seek to change with it. Are you praying often? If not, and you need help to be encouraged to do so, let me know. Prayer is a very important part of our lives.
Call out to Him and seek his Love and Forgiveness. It really is as hard or easy as you make it.
We should look to Him daily to seek a relationship with Him. I want to encourage you to seek Him today, if you haven’t already. If you need help, have questions or need direction in this regard, please, feel free to let me know.
