Spend Time To Focus

Mark 1:35-39 (NKJV): Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. 36 And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him. 37 When they found Him, they said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.” 38 But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.” 39 And He was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and casting out demons.

If we are to be “Christ-Like” we need to be more like Christ. It seems when there was to be a time for Him to do something big, like in this instance starting His ministry in other towns, He spent time in prayer. He always sought The Father’s Lead before He would venture on to different things. He always would seek The Father’s Heart and would do what pleases Him.

If we want to be more like Christ, we need to focus our time so that we spend time with God. We don’t want to be Willy-nilly in what we do or where we go. We not only need to spend time in lifting our requests to Him, we need to spend time in listening.

We tend to make the mistake that when something sounds like a “good idea”, to pray that He would bless our efforts. The problem with that idea, He may not want us to go in the direction we think. When we wait and listen, we will have confirmation. And don’t think I’m saying that we need to wait in the wings until some “Divine Inspiration” comes. I’m saying don’t rush off into something without confirming that He is involved.

It starts with Our Relationship with Jesus. If you don’t have a Relationship with Him or you need to rekindle that Relationship, do it now. Call out to Him and seek his Love and Forgiveness. It really is as hard or easy as you make it.

We should look to Him daily to seek a relationship with Him. I want to encourage you to seek Him today, if you haven’t already. If you need help, have questions or need direction in this regard, please, feel free to let me know.
