Matthew 16:22-24 Easy-to-Read Version
22 Peter took Jesus away from the other followers to talk to him alone. He began to criticize him. He said, “God save you from those sufferings, Lord! That will never happen to you!”
23 Then Jesus said to Peter, “Get away from me, Satan! You are not helping me! You don’t care about the same things God does. You care only about things that people think are important.”
24 Then Jesus said to his followers, “If any of you want to be my follower, you must stop thinking about yourself and what you want. You must be willing to carry the cross that is given to you for following me.
Peter tried to stop Jesus from saving us from condemnation!
Friends, I hear the Lord saying to us, Peter tried to stop Jesus from saving us from condemnation! Whew! Soak that in for a minute …

And, if we are not aware … like Peter … of what God is really doing behind the scenes (FOR those HE loves) … we can be guilty of condemning others who hurt us; or hurt those we love!
Even those who hurt Jesus … Be aware of whom Jesus is. Just because we love Jesus, we can’t condemn whom Jesus come to save! God is working behind the scenes to draw whoSOever to believe …so that they TOO SHALL not perish, but have everlasting life!
What an eye-opener!
… behind the scenes, God is working beyond the natural to take us to the supernatural of all that we can see, touch and feel … That God loves us with an everlasting & devoted love; and that we are immensely and incredibly valuable to God!

What a painting of how God sees us as a new creature in Christ!
Alone in this world we all have a sinful nature ~ Inherited from Adam, imputed by the law & personal selfish ambition & envy that causes our heart to desire sin in our human carnal nature that we need coverage for!
BUT GOD!!!
But God SO loved us THAT He gave us JESUS! We needed a strength of God & new ID; and God gave us His Son Jesus, SO THAT we could be set free from the law of sin & death & Jesus knew we needed a helper to stay close to God & pure in heart!
Praise God! Praise God for loving us as little children & loving us enough to HELP us grow into a maturity in Christ!
Like any good parent does for a child we love, we love them in the best ways for our child’s best interest! A parent is the most unselfish & pure love we have the opportunity to experience!
So, we come in by seeking & go out found WITH GOD! We come in to this world needing His Presence! And, we NEED to remember we need HIS PRESENCE as we go out & travel THRU out this world!
We come into the Presence of God thru Jesus & go out different than we come in! Redeemed, Renewed, empowered…Changed!
We are radically transformed by God’s Presence thru Christ Jesus, the RESURRECTED Savior & Lord!
God For, WITH & IN us. Prepare in His Presence to make a difference! All for the glory of God to be seen!
Yes a child of God is called to face some battles for the sake of Jesus to be seen thru us! Friends, we learn by our mistakes! Don’t become downcast & burdened!
SOMETHING HAPPENS WHEN GET WHAT GOD WANTS US TO KNOW!

Trials teach us to trust God in all things!
