I picked up the ABQ Journal this morning from the driveway, and this headline hit me, MAYOR MAY SUPPORT TAX HIKE WITHOUT VOTE….Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller was handed a big mess. I have written about this before, that the previous administration left not only Mayor Keller a big lump of coal but the citizens of the city! $40 million in the hole! It is a shame when we trust our leaders to do their job and they don’t.
It is unethical to run up a budget deficit. I am very hard line on this. The same thing is going on in Washington where nobody is keeping an eye on the financial health of America, our budget deficit goes on and on. It seems the leaders in D.C. just don’t care. The federal government spends like their is no tomorrow.
It’s both the Republicans and Democrats, who do not seem to care.
As Mark Twain once said, “The only difference between a Republican and Democrat is the spelling!”
Now, Albuquerque Mayor Keller will attempt to bring the city back from being in the WEEDS.
The U.S. federal budget deficit for fiscal year 2019 is $985 billion. FY 2019 covers October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019. The deficit occurs because the U.S. government spending of $4.407 trillion is higher than its revenue of $3.422 trillion.
