Psalm 119:41-48 (NKJV): Let Your mercies come also to me, O LordYour salvation according to Your word. 42 So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me,
For I trust in Your word. 43 And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth,
For I have hoped in Your ordinances. 44 So shall I keep Your law continually, Forever and ever. 45 And I will walk at liberty, For I seek Your precepts. 46 I will speak of Your testimonies also before kings, And will not be ashamed. 47 And I will delight myself in Your commandments, Which I love. 48 My hands also I will lift up to Your commandments,
Which I love, And I will meditate on Your statutes

Have you ever struggled sharing why you believe what you believe? You’re not the only  one. People seem to be intimidated in sharing their Faith. Really, we do not need to worry. We should look to The One who provided it for us in the first place.

Matthew 10:16-26 (NKJV): “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. 17 But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. 18 You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19 But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; 20 for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. 21 “Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 22 And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved. 23 When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes. 24 “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household! 26 Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.

We are told that no matter what we face, we should share. The first thing on our minds should be The Love that Jesus showed. We should share about how we are transformed by His Work. Everyone of us has a testimony to share. It doesn’t matter if we are the one who was a murderer, thief, etc. or if we are like a bratty child who didn’t get their way. What matters is that we share and that we listen to those who we are talking to.

Even the Psalmist in this passage recognizes the need to look for help. He did not want to be silent but rather to be bold and share about God’s Love. What did he do when he felt stuck? He asked for God to help.

Psalm 121 (NKJV): I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.

Up to this point, The Psalmist talked about:

  1. Being Obedient
  2. Hiding The Word in his heart
  3. Trusting God
  4. Studying/Memorizing The Word
  5. Growing in his Relationship with The Lord

And we see here that these led up to this. This is where we see what he has been talking about has developed his knowledge of what he can share in regards to knowing God.

Do you know God and Jesus? If not, why not?

Our take away from this portion of Psalm 119 today should be, to know that He will provide what we need to know when it comes to testify about our Faith.

We will continue to be looking at this Psalm in sections. Although,  we need Jesus to bring us back into A Relationship with God The Father, this Psalm lays a foundation of how we should be walking in our Faith walks.

If we are to please God, we need to allow The Holy Spirit to set us apart. We need to pursue a sinless life. We are to seek Righteousness. How do we do it? Through prayer, study, fellowship, being willing to be corrected/accountability, discipleship, and service.

It starts with Our Relationship with Jesus. If you don’t have a Relationship with Him or you need to rekindle that Relationship, do it now. Call out to Him and seek his Love and Forgiveness. It really is as hard or easy as you make it.

We should look to Him daily to seek a relationship with Him. I want to encourage you to seek Him today, if you haven’t already. If you need help, have questions or need direction in this regard, please, feel free to let me know.
