California Prays for New Mexico

This world cannot even dream the things prayer may stimulate and bring from heaven.

“He will fulfil the desire of them that fear Him: He also will hear their cry, and will save them.

20 The Lord preserveth all them that love Him: but all the wicked will He destroy.” (Psalm 145: 19-20)

Dear Loving and Merciful Father of all Who, in Christ, may call upon You; Your forgiving and gracious touch is desperately needed in the region of New Mexico.  I know, my LORD, precious and few are the righteous who dwell there, but I call upon Your mercy, as did Your servant Abraham, for the good of the total for the sake of the few and for the glory of the righteous Judge of all the earth, Who will do what is right.

I humble myself before You, and I plead Your mercy over the vast state of New Mexico which suffers greatly in her drought conditions, which brings wind and fire threats.   LORD, I am not putting aside as unimportant, the actions of those who have walked away from, or denied, You entirely, doing evil in Your sight and to one another, never that.  Nevertheless, I am asking, for the sake of the few righteous, that You would bring about supernatural weather pattern changes to relieve and end the catastrophic results of extended rainless seasons.   Please restrain the winds and the fire dangers, as Your own glory outshines the New Mexico sun.

Lord, refresh them with the water of life.  Lord, restore them with the water of life; may they be renewed.  Thanks, be to our God.   Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever.  Amen

Forecasters are warning that parts of New Mexico are in for more windy conditions later this week and that means higher fire danger. There will be strong southwest winds across northern and central New Mexico. Gusts could range from 50 to 70 mph tomorrow  afternoon. Red flag warnings have been issued for the areas through Thursday evening. The warnings came as firefighters in Albuquerque doused 2 fires that broke out in the dry wooded area along the Rio Grande Tuesday afternoon. Conditions are dry, more than three-quarters of the state is dealing with severe to extreme drought. Please pray for rain.

WIND AND DUST FORECAST

A potent low pressure system is moving onto the Pacific Northwest Coast today. It will rapidly dig into Arizona then cross New Mexico late Thursday and Friday. Gale force winds are forecast for Thursday afternoon and evening ahead of and near the cold front. The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch for Thursday. Contractors should be prepared to shut down operations quickly Thursday afternoon.

Windy conditions are expected Friday behind the cold front…not as strong as Thursday, though some blowing dust is still possible. Much cooler temperatures, a more stable air mass, and possibly cloud cover may further limit blowing dust potential Friday.

Thursday: Becoming sunny during the afternoon with southwest wind increasing to 35-45 mph with gusts to 65 mph. Highs 78-81.

Thursday night: Damaging west winds 40-50 mph with gusts to 65 mph during the evening decreasing to 20-30 mph after midnight. Lows 34-38.

Friday: Partly cloudy and colder. Northwest wind 30-35 mph with gusts to 45 mph. Highs 48-54.
