Hello Dear Readers,

And age old question, but not often talked about, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”

I hope you are doing well.  The thought on my heart of God to share with you today is to encourage you in that God is always up to doing some good … Through our many adversities that come to us!

Many times we want to skip the adversity, but it is in the difficult times that we get the privilege to experience the power of God on the Move!  Hope in Today Ministries, Inc, is a ministry of God’s Word on the Move! And, to God be the Glory!  In Christ, so are we all, when we receive the Holy Spirit through the Gift of Christ!  And, Thank you Jesus!

Yes, God is up to doing Good! Romans 8:28 (ESV) says, ”

²⁸ AND WE KNOW THAT FOR THOSE WHO LOVE GOD all things work together FOR GOOD, for those who are called ACCORDING TO his purpose.

I believe we can gain & grow in our greater understanding of this message about adversity & the Greater Grace we have in Christ Jesus, through the Bible!  Let’s look at the account of Paul and Silas Imprisoned in ACTS Chapter 16!

“Eventually Paul grew so aggravated that he turned and said to the spirit, …

Paul and Silas’ Adversity in this time begins like this in Acts 16 & Verse 6:

“One day as we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl with a spirit of clairvoyance [Clairvoyance defined:  (ability to perceive matters beyond the range of ordinary perception)] , who earned a large income for her masters by fortune-telling. 17This girlfollowed Paul and the rest of us, shouting,“These men are servants of the Most High God,who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation.” 18 She continued this for many days. Eventually Paul grew so aggravated that he turned and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” And the spirit left her at that very moment …

What happened next?

 We can mirror our life in Christ to the Bible’s advise in how to survive well in this world through Christ  … Even though we may feel the pain …

 How?  HE is how!  God the Father, God the Son, God The Holy Spirit is THE Greater Spiritual Power!

The Adversity of aggravation grew to the Adversity of troubles coming at Paul and Silas.  And, this fits well here to this message, because we can mirror our life to the Bible’s advise in how to survive well in this world through Christ.  You may not be thrown into a physical prison, but is there a challenge to your faith; or a difficulty that has come to you that feels like it has you chained right now?

Adversities come to & at us, but God is working all things together for the good!

In Christ, IF you have made HIM (Jesus) to be the foundation to your faith, did you know that you have a choice NOT TO LET fear, frustrations, etc., (that come TO & AT you) … (to not allow them to come IN you)?  You have a God given Choice, because “in you” is where the Holy Spirit resides IN you through your faith in Christ, who is with you.  A choice … Even though we may feel the pain … How?  HE is how!  God the Father, God the Son, God The Holy Spirit is THE greater Spiritual Power!

“Her masters’ hopes of wealth were now shattered, so they grabbed Paul and Silas and dragged them before the authorities at the marketplace.”

Acts 16:19 NLT

The Adversity of affliction touched Paul and Silas!

They felt the pain, but God was still on the MOVE!

“A mob quickly formed against Paul and Silas, and the city officials ordered them stripped and beaten with wooden rods.”

“And when they had inflicted many blows upon them, they threw them into prison, ordering the jailer to keep them safely.”

Acts 16:22-23 NLT

This was not an easy time …

But we get the PRIVILEGE to see Grace from God’s Hand already upon them!

This was not an easy time … And still Today for us, adversities still are a negative that God is working out a positive  in your life too; & for a greater purpose!  The Greater Purpose is for Repentance & the Salvation of Souls!

How is this possible?

If you need a picture of this?  Turn on a light!  How is this possible?  You can’t see the behind the wall electrical work of Positive and Negative connections, but the connection is necessary to turn on the light in a dark room to see!

There is a Source and a Power from God to us in the Name of Jesus & in the power of Holy Spirit to overcome all things through Christ who strengthens us & enables us to experience JOY!  There is power in the NAME of Jesus.  We just need to be trained how to walk in HIM here on this earth.

IT is a PERSON!

2 Corinthians 6:5
in beatings, imprisonments, and riots; in labor, sleepless nights, and hunger;

Repentance & the Salvation of Souls!

24On receiving thisorder, he placed them in the inner cell andfastened their feet in the stocks. 25About midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.…

At this time … I believe you will open your Bible to reacquaint your self with the details of this account! Because If we get this, we will never be the same!    About midnight, in pain and chained, when all looked to be and appeared to be all gloom and doom, God moved!  This is the same God we serve today in the Name of Jesus and in the Power of Christ with us!  The Resurrection Gift to us from Jesus is the power of the Holy Spirit!

HE is HOW!  There are 3 … , but He is ONE!

“Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
Acts 19:2 ESV

Repentence is the 1st Baptism OF …where the Holy Spirit Baptises us into the body of Christ for Salvation!

This Chapter in Deu 30 begins with defining Repentence & Forgiveness.

The Choice of Life & Death is SET before us (vs 11). Jesus is the Truth that sets us free! Jesus is The Way & The Life!

And the 2nd Baptism is when Christ’s Disciples baptizes us in Water as a willing act to bury our old sinful nature / to cut off the sinful flesh nature choosing to walk in the New Spiritual Nature in the power in Christ! Jesus was baptized by water ~ as an example to us & for a PURPOSE!

This is the relationship we have in Christ Jesus, to do as Jesus teaches us to do.

But why do we Christ ians sometimes / many times miss that mark of God’s expectations of Patience & Joy?

Emotions alone will try to go back into a dead sinful heart! BUT Jesus is Perfect & Alive! Our new Spiritual heart needs a Helper to Survive in this world after the miracle of when we 1st believed (when the Holy Spirit Baptized us into the family of God)!

We need a HELPER, which is to be baptized BY Jesus IN the Holy Spirit!~ annointing of God’s power and authority over all things! So IF possible as far as it depends on me, All things are possible through Christ who strengthens(each)me in 1.

I refuse to be offended! Because of Jesus!

Jesus was baptised with / in the Holy Spirit when the Holy Spirit descended on Him like a dove!

“Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”

Jesus promises The Holy Spirit

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells WITH you and will be IN you. “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come TO you.
John 14:15‭-‬18 ESV

And the Verse of Today is highlighting Deu 30:19. Will you read it again? But this time listen to what Jesus wants to say to you about something good for you.
