What a blessing to meet 90 year old WWII Veteran Andy Wilson last night! He says he wears the hat praying that young people will ask him about WWII, just the other day a 12 year old boy did just that! The boy told Andy that he wanted to learn all about WWII. Pray for Andy! We give thanks to him and all that served in WWII like my Dad and his 6 brothers. Andy gave me a big hug and said he would pray for me! What a giver! What a man of God! He lifted my spirits so high!

Our WWII generation is quickly passing onto glory…….I will miss them, but I will never forget them!

Pictured to the right is my Dad Wally Moede who served as a Sgt. in the Marines in WWII.

Pastor Jerry McCullah wrote this post for Veterans Day 2016………

Gracious Loving Heavenly Father, You are far greater than we, mere men, could ever imagine, or even desire.   We praise You as our Creator and Sustainer.

Lord, in days past, You moved men to pray, and to hope, for a place to live and worship You in freedom.  You inspired men to bring this land into being which we proudly call home.   We praise You for America.

Lord, You have motivated the best and most courageous men and women to proudly serve and defend our much-loved nation.

On this Veteran’s Day, we remember and honor our military veteran’s.     It is their service which made it possible for us to live in freedom and safety, so today, Lord; we honor those who have served our country.    Bless those who have served with both earthly and heavenly blessings for their selfless love of America.  Please, Lord, abundantly provide their needs; enable them to overcome every personal and professional hindrance.

May all of our veterans feel honored and cared for, not just today, but always.

And then, Father, we remember our wounded warriors.    Far too many of our heroes must deal with physical and emotional wounds as a result of their service to our country.   Please, please, make certain that they are given the best treatments available and give Your blessings to all who help them in their every need.  Lord, show them divine miracles as they seek out health, strength, peace, and wholeness.

We are honored and humbled to pray these things in Jesus’ name, Amen!

Pastor Jerry also posted this last night as the U.S. and our allies the United Kingdom and France attacked chemical weapons facilities in Syria………

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.  (Psalm 91)

Precious LORD of Truth, Your Holy Word promises that those who come to You for security, those who remain under the protection of the Almighty have the right and boldness to declare, “You are my defender and protector, you are my God; in you I trust.” LORD, may all Americans in the military, and all our allied troops turn to You and find rest in the shadow of Your wings.

I implore that You keep them safe from all dangers hidden and seen.  Shielding them and sheltering them with Your mighty and far reaching wings, allow Your promises be their protecting armor.

Keep them bold, LORD.  May they not be afraid of the terrors in the night, nor fear the perils of the day or the adversity that strikes with the heights of the sun.  Though a thousand others fall at their side, and though a thousand die all-around them, defend our soldiers and allies from harm.

LORD, as they make You their refuge and shelter; permit no evil to conquer them, allow no scourge to draw close to their tent or dwelling place.  Direct Your angels to protect them anywhere they are dispatched.

You have said, “I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name.”  May this be applicable of every man and woman in harm’s way who defends the defenseless!   Father, when they call upon You, answer them in Your mighty power; stay near to them in trouble, rescue them and honor them with Your presence.   And finally, may they each one find their salvation in You, in Christ’s name, Amen!
