“And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat” (Luke 22:31)
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” (1 Peter 5:8-9)
Beloved believer, Satan is a great hindrance to prayer. He would devour your desire to pray. He would cause your day to seem too busy for prayer. If he is successful in causing you to neglect prayer, he has defeated you, mastered you, and controlled you. However, when you do pray, you have defeated his purpose in you, and in praying, you have defeated his purposes somewhere else by collaborating with God in His purpose. Beloved believer, in spite of Satan’s efforts, pray. Spend much time in prayer. “Pray without ceasing.” Sacrifice time and energy to pray. Often, sacrifice food and rest to pray. Time is short. The day of the LORD is at hand. Pray On!
