Israel Retaliates for Iranian Missiles with Massive Strike

IDF spokesperson Brig-Gen. Ronen Manelis held a briefing Thursday morning in which he revealed that “For several weeks we have been conducting a large-scale operation with the aim of disrupting a strike by the [Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s] Quds Force. We have acted several times in the face of Iranian ticking time bombs. Last night the Quds Force carried out an attack…20 rockets were fired, and not one fell in Israeli territory.” He then revealed that the IDF had carried out a massive retaliatory raid, wiping out nearly all of Iran’s military assets and infrastructure in southern Syria.

Netanyahu Returns from Russia

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu returned from Moscow Wednesday evening, telling reporters he had received assurances from Russian President Vladimir Putin that Israel would not be curtailed in taking military action in Syria. “I presented Israel’s obligation and right to defend itself against Iranian aggression from Syrian territory,” Netanyahu said. “The Iranians declare their intention to attack us. They are trying to transfer forces and deadly weapons there with the explicit goal of attacking the State of Israel as part of their strategy to destroy it.”

Israeli University Signs Agreement with UN Lab

The campaign to Boycott, Divest and Sanction (BDS) Israel suffered another devastating defeat this week when an agreement to enhance joint research and development activity was signed between Bar-Ilan University and the UN Nanotechnology Laboratory located in Portugal. “This important agreement offers our researchers an international stage to promote their groundbreaking research.  The agreement reflects the vision of our university to advance scientific, technological and medical research over the coming years, and to increase our international collaboration, including training of international students,” said Bar-Ilan University vice president for research Prof. Shulamit Michaeli.

Iran-Backed Houthis Launch Missiles at Saudi Arabia

The Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen fired several ballistic missiles at the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh Wednesday afternoon. Saudi air defense units said they intercepted one incoming while another landed harmlessly in an open area south of the city, but witnesses reported seeing and hearing at least four explosions in the city center. “This hostile action by the Houthi militia backed by Iran proves the continued involvement of the Iranian regime,” Saudi-led coalition spokesman Malki was quoted as saying by state news agency SPA.

Likud Gains Support Amidst Regional Developments

A Midgam poll was released this week showing that the Likud Party of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is enjoying a surge in support following the withdrawal of the US from the JCPOA nuclear deal with Iran. The poll, which was released on Channel 2 News, showed that Likud would garner enough votes for 35 seats if an election were held in the near future, up from its current 30.
