When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” The Lord has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy. Restore our fortunes, Lord, like streams in the Negev. Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them. Psalm 126
Father, thank you that in You we live and move and have our being. (Acts 17:28). Thank you that weeping endures for a night but joy comes in the morning. (Psalm 30:5)
You, oh God, fill our mouths with laughter and our tongues songs of joy. (Psalm 126:2) We have so much to be joyous about. You oh God, turn our mourning into dancing and clothe us with joy. (Psalm 30:11)
Today, we lay down all our burdens, cast all our cares to You our God. We take Your yoke upon us, for Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light. (Matthew 11:30) We want to enjoy the day you have given us, the abundant life (John 10:10). Amen
