Romans 13:8 Owe no person anything but to love one another, for the one who loves his neighbor fulfills the Written Law. (Aramaic Bible in Plain English)
Every time I dust the pictures in my house, I think about how blessed I am. All of these beautiful people in my life, every one unique and special.
A couple of young men died recently here in a boating accident; a young woman was murdered; a military aircraft crashed killing all on board; a police officer was shot, a child was killed by a dog…someone’s boy, girl, husband, wife, brother, sister, father, mother or friend isn’t going home ever again…on this earth anyway.
It breaks my heart when people hold grudges and can’t seem to move beyond wrongs done to them or wrongs they have done to others.
Matthew 18:21-22 Then Peter came to Him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No!” Jesus replied, “Seventy times seven!” (NLT)
I love this quote:
To forgive is the highest, most beautiful form of love. In return, you will receive untold peace and happiness. (Robert Muller)
Colossians 3:13-14 You must make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive the person who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. And the most important piece of clothing you must wear is love. love is what binds us all together in perfect harmony. (NLT)
Make allowances for other’s faults, and yours. Don’t let the past eat your lunch. Let it go! It’s in the past…gone…done. Put the stick down and quit beating others and yourself up.
1 Corinthians 13:4-5 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. (NLT)
This is what the Lord does with wrongs:
Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. (NASB)
Throw all that stuff that keeps you from resting and peace to the wind! It’s not worth the heartache it causes you. Choose to forgive and forget. Choose to love.
Romans 8:1,2 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. For the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you through Christ Jesus from the power of sin that leads to death. (NLT)
I’ve had my share of hurting others and being hurt by others, but I can honestly tell you that I have forgiven and forgotten. I don’t even think about those things, but I have learned to treasure those in my life because I love them and they matter to me. My heart is for others to walk in freedom and enjoy the times we have together for we don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Make your peace beloved ones.
Ephesians 1:16-18 and Ephesians 3:16 and 19 I have never stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the wonderful future He has promised to those He called. I want you to realize what a rich and glorious inheritance He has given to His people. I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will give you mighty inner strength through His Holy Spirit. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Teach us to love, Abba. Amen.
