“And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
2 Corinthians 3:18
Yesterday we enjoyed picturing Jesus as the Rose of Sharon in whom the fullness of God’s glory was revealed, just like a beautiful flower in full bloom. People marveled at each new turn, each new facet, each unfolding and unfurling of His nature and character. Beholding the glory of God in the life of Jesus must have been breathtaking beyond description — no wonder people wanted to be near Him.
In the same way, the Father desires that you reveal the glory of the Son in ever-increasing measures. Second Corinthians 4:6 says that God has given you ” the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” With every small obedience and with every drastic trust in Him, you grow from bud to blossom, just like a rose. As you reflect the Lord’s glory, you are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, just like a flower unfurling. I want people to marvel at Christ’s character in your life… I want people to be drawn to you by the fragrance of Christ’s life… I want you to grow in Him, change and be transformed, from bud to blossom.
If the season is right, clip a rosebud from a backyard bush. Or splurge and purchase an American Beauty bud from your florist. Place it in a vase near your desk or near your kitchen sink. Watch it blossom from day to day. As you see it change, take that moment to glory in one of Christ’s amazing and lovely attributes…take that moment to welcome change and transformation in your own life…take that moment to commit to trust and obedience in the Rose of Sharon.
Lord Jesus, You are full of grace and truth. I covenant with You today to reflect those wonderful qualities. Transform me. Change me. From bud to blossom.
