House of Hope is Coming to Windom August 10th and 11th

UPDATED June 28th:

We are so excited in our LORD with this news. Our very Dear, Dear friend Dave Fjeld of the Windom Citizen wrote this in his column this week:

Windom native son Dewey Moede was more than a little excited when he called me Monday afternoon.
Why?
Well, he was eager to announce that a special guest is coming for the “House of Hope.” House of Hope will be held Aug. 10 and 11 at the BARC Auditorium in Windom.
Moede is a 1974 graduate of Windom Area High School and lives with his wife, Sharon, in New Mexico. He and Sharon are co-founders of For God’s Glory Alone Ministries and for the past couple of years, Dewey has returned to his hometown to lead special services on one weekend at the BARC Auditorium in Windom.
Well, he’s coming back again in 2018, and this time he’s asked a friend of his to join him and speak at the services.
That special guest is Nita Killebrew; yes, the wife of the late Minnesota Twins great Harmon Killebrew. Like he was to many of us in that 40-, 50- and 60-something age group, Harmon was a childhood hero to Dewey. Dewey actually was able to become friends with Harmon and Nita several years before his death in 2011 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Since Harmon’s death, Dewey has remained friends with Nita and has wanted her to come to Windom and share her testimony of what God has done in her life and what He did in her late husband’s life.
That hope is now reality.
Nita will be one of several individuals who will be sharing their stories or musical talents on one or both evenings.
In addition, Nita has agreed to share some baseball stories about Harmon at a fundraiser breakfast for the Windom Baseball Association on Aug. 11. She is taking no money for this event, but wanted all proceeds to go to the local WBA. More details on the event and how to get one of the limited number of tickets will be released soon.
But that is just one small part of what promises to be a great spiritual weekend in Windom, geared especially for those who are looking for hope.
“All of the messages are centered around hope,” Dewey says. “What the Lord has shown me is that people need hope. And in this world we’re living in we need hope more than ever and we need the hope of Jesus Christ. That’s the message we want to bring to Windom.”
He is basing the weekend on Romans 15:13a: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him.”
“You can live in the hurt of the past, or the hope of the future,” Dewey continues. “There will be messages and music of hope nightly. We’re stressing that our only hope is in Jesus Christ.”
In addition to Dewey and Nita speaking both nights, others sharing during the weekend include Windom residents Rick Frederickson, Loretta Jackson, Babe Crowell, Phil Anderson and Jack Kelly. Windom native Franz Boelter also will speak.
Dustin Stevens will be playing piano, in place of the late Pat Fisher, who had tickled the ivories for each of Dewey’s previous visits to Windom. Joining Dustin are Barnie Wahl of Mt. Lake on autoharp and Sherri Johnson and Tracy Miller, guitar players from West Virginia.
“We’re also going to have congregational singing,” Dewey adds.
Many more details about this event will be released in the future. But mark your calendars now. August 10 and 11 is when the BARC Auditorium will become a House of Hope.
“It’s going to be jam-packed,” Dewey says.

The picture of Nita Killebrew is from the eulogy that she gave at Harmon’s Memorial in 2011.
