...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 9 PM MDT
THIS EVENING...
* LOCATION...The Lower Rio Grande Valley, Eastern San Miguel,
Guadalupe, Quay and De Baca Counties as well as the Chaves
County Plains.
* TIMING...This afternoon through sunset or between 2pm and 8pm.
* TEMPERATURES...Highs ranging from 100 to around 107 degrees.
* LOCAL IMPACTS...Hazardous heat will pose an elevated health
risk to sensitive people. These risks include heat exhaustion
and heat stroke, especially for the very young and the
elderly. Pets and livestock will also be impacted.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.
