Blessed Are…, Matthew 5:8

Matthew 5:8 (NKJV): Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

“Houston! We have a problem!”

We have an “Ah Oh” moment here. Jesus said that those who are “pure in heart’ will see God. But how can we be “pure in heart”? We are sinners. We are fallen. To be “pure in heart” by God’s Standards would mean that we are not tarnished, have not sinned. So, what do we do now?

It would seem that this is yet another way Jesus is showing us that without God, we fail. That we need a way to become “pure” When we look at this, this maybe another way He is showing us that we need to be Redeemed in order to be in God’s Favor again.

Jesus told the Disciples that they see The Father through Him, John 14:7-11. He was telling them that if they/we want to get to Know The Father, we need to Know Jesus. We need to have a Relationship with Him.

We also find in Isaiah 1:18, that our sins are washed away through Him. This means that through Jesus we can become “pure in heart” This would mean that the “Ah Oh” moment is no longer valid, if we have sought Jesus.

Do you want to see God? Then you need to Know Jesus. Do you want to become “pure in heart”? Then you need to have Jesus cleanse you. You can do both by surrendering to Him today. Jesus is the one who brings us to The Father.

We will continue  be looking at the Sermon on The Mount, continuing with The Beatitudes. Although,  we need Jesus to bring us back into A Relationship with God The Father, The Sermon on The Mount deals with Heart Issues which is what we should look at when learning to have that Relationship with God.
If we are to please God, we need to allow The Holy Spirit to set us apart. We need to pursue a sinless life. We are to seek Righteousness. How do we do it? Through prayer, study, fellowship, being willing to be corrected/accountability, discipleship, and service.

It starts with Our Relationship with Jesus. If you don’t have a Relationship with Him or you need to rekindle that Relationship, do it now. Call out to Him and seek his Love and Forgiveness. It really is as hard or easy as you make it.

We should look to Him daily to seek a relationship with Him. I want to encourage you to seek Him today, if you haven’t already. If you need help, have questions or need direction in this regard, please, feel free to let me know.

Maybe today you are struggling with something. Maybe you may have found yourself not as close to The Lord as you thought. We would like to help you in this through prayer and guidance.
