Mayor, Fire Chief offer positive reports, crest to come soon
I love my home town, Windom, Minnesota! The Des Moines river is over its banks. Sharon and I are praying for the water to recede, and we thank the Lord for how this community comes together in times of need. I wish I was there to help, it pains me to be out here in New Mexico at this time. This sandbagging is taking place right near the back yard of the house I grew up in, my brother Dave and his wife Denise live there now! I remember the flood in ther late 60’s that flooded us out of our house for a week or so! Our basement was full of water!
One of my heroes Rodney Byam, who has served Windom as a Police Officer, Fireman, Rescue Squad, and now as a City Councilor, Rodney also is with the Red Cross. He posted this on his Facebook last night:
I can not tell anyone how great it is to see our community come together and show up for sandbagging operations,We filled more than 10,000 bags and we be at it again tomorrow morning at 8:30. I want to thank Hy-V
Thank you Rodney for this report. We are in constant prayer for the safety of all and for the water to recede, in Jesus name, Amen!
