This story is very special to me as my dear, dear friend and hero Dan Ortmann is the Fire Chief in my hometown and also my Dad and Grandpa Moede served on the Department. I am pictured here with Chief Ortmann in my visit to the new Fire Hall in 2017.
The Windom Fire department needs Firefighters! Windom has a storied history of outstanding firefighters!

The City of Windom is sounding the alarm. Volunteers are needed for the fire department.
Steve Nasby, Windom’s city administrator, said: “We had some retirements earlier this year and we’re expecting some more retirements next year. As the generations age, the folks who are doing public service are starting to retire, so we’re looking for some new firefighters to refill about 7 or 8 spots that have been vacated.”
