KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Nearly 200,000 students, coaches, parents and community members will gather one month from today at more than 500 athletic fields nationwide for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ (FCA, www.fca.org) 15th annual Fields of Faith events on Oct. 10.
Hundreds of student-led and student-driven gatherings across the country and around the world encourage young people to challenge one another to pray, read their Bible and commit their lives to Christ.
Last fall, thousands of lives were changed eternally on 521 fields across the country, as the 2017 event set a new record with 198,000 in attendance. Even more important, 6,213 made first-time faith commitments, 5,015 recommitted their lives to Christ, and 6,494 committed to reading their Bible.
“We have been so blessed as we watch all God has done and continues to do through FCA’s Fields of Faith events,” said FCA Executive Director of Ministry Advancement Jeff Martin. “It is absolutely incredible that more than 198,000 people gathered last year on athletic fields around the world, calling on each other to read their Bibles and pray. None of this would be possible without God and the students He raises up to organize these amazing events, where they share how Jesus has changed their lives.”
Originated in 2004 by Martin, Fields of Faith is a peer-to-peer event that inspires students to refuel their faith and get back to the basics of reading God’s Word through worship and personal testimonies.
