I remembered recently what it was like when we were 20 something. We bought our 1st house! And, my dad rubbed his more knowledgeable head, & ever so tenderly said, “Karen, have you thought about tearing it down & starting over?”
Wild-eyed. I couldn’t see where that faith come from, “Oh No Dad, We can only afford 2 months of double payment (Rent & Mortgage).
Dad heavily concerned, shaking his more experienced head, but with a tremendous love for me, said, “Well, what if we tear off this one side?” I was just as unreachable to his more experienced wisdom & told him what we couldn’t do; nor afford.
TODAY, Young people, we are none different than the same – A generation of change. But what we need to keep is our ability to change our attitudes to let each learn; the same as my dad let us learn – The hard way.
30 years later, I see clearly, my dad helped us do it right, we gutted the house & I have a picture standing on the hill behind, there was nothing left inside when we finished taking out the OLD & taking it down to a place we could rebuild to a solid foundation. The only way!
WE BUILT a new house top to bottom & side to side and thru & thru INSIDE that OLD shell! What if we would have done it my dad’s way?
I asked God what He wanted me to say today.
The Spirit of God whispered to me & said, “Tell them I love them. And, tell them I AM THE Way.”
TODAY, we need to remember the story of the Good wheat. Just because we see what we don’t understand, be gentle with the right attitude & don’t trample out the Good Life that is growing trying to get rid of the weeds. Only God knows what we can’t see; hearts. Our job is to plant & water the Word of GOD (Truth) in the hearts of people, love & pray.
Like that old house, God makes us brand new inside our shell & then we Experience life to be Convinced in The Truth! GOD knows best & loves us enough to tell us …& help us understand.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth & the Life no matter how you try to slice life. GOD IS LIFE & our NEW spiritual life begins with our Relationship with Jesus!
My dad knew best, but I see he loved me enough to let me make my own mistakes to really learn why I NEEDED to know…
