Matthew 5:28 (NKJV): But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Another thing we need to see here is that it’s not just in our marriages that this is a problem. Most of the time, we find that we want bigger and better things. We want the faster, fancier car. We want the bigger house. And it can be anything in our lives. What we end up doing is putting ourselves into debt getting these things. The next thing we know, we are more focused on paying for these things than in being involved in others’ lives. This is a problem.
Exploring these things of our heart, we should see that these are the things that directly affect our relationship with Christ. We no longer have tine to spend with Him. We start to distance ourselves because of guilt or because we are chasing after the bigger, better things. However, we need to recognize these for what they are, they are distractions.
Remember, God is Jealous. Not in an evil way, but in a Loving Way. He wants our complete devotion. He wants to Work in our lives to show us more of Who He is. Through His Work, He will show others His Love for them.
Are you being distracted with things or others? Are you lusting for things that will keep you from Growing with Him? Then Flee from it all. Run to Him. Ask Him for Forgiveness and for Strength. After all, He has bigger and better things for us than things that will rust, burn or hurt us. His Love is much better than anything of this world.
It starts with Our Relationship with Jesus. If you don’t have a Relationship with Him or you need to rekindle that Relationship, do it now. Call out to Him and seek his Love and Forgiveness. It really is as hard or easy as you make it.
We should look to Him daily to seek a relationship with Him. I want to encourage you to seek Him today, if you haven’t already. If you need help, have questions or need direction in this regard, please, feel free to let me know.
Maybe today you are struggling with something. Maybe you may have found yourself not as close to The Lord as you thought. We would like to help you in this through prayer and guidance.
