Pray Powerfully for Pastors

I have a weighty disquiet in my soul. I often encourage believers to pray for their pastors, and other pastors they might know. May I try to help you to understand why this is so imperative to me?

I have confessed to you in writing about my involvement with Satanism and witchcraft in the years before my salvation experience. What I am about to share with you are true happenings.

I knew this to be true before, as my own experience, but this also is a testimony of a well-known man of international prayer ministry, of whom I have worked with. I do not have permission to use his name here, even though I am sure he would not mind. He was on a cross-country flight to conduct a prayer conference and found his seat beside an interesting man.

In casual conversation, after becoming airborne, my friend asked this person about his destination and business. To which, the man explained that he was a Satanist and was meeting with others to pray against Christian pastors and their families. Note the subtle boldness.

Then, while I was pastor in another city, I had preached a series that was biblically hard-lined against homosexual behavior. Not long after, I hosted a conference that revealed cults and their beliefs. I angered many people, by these teachings.

A friend of mine revealed to me that a witch in town had an altar to the devil in his home with my picture on it. One Sunday after services, a gay Satanist called me on the phone at church and we debated back and forth for over three hours.

Often, a female witch, whom also was a correctional officer at the prison, would attend services in an attempt to hinder our worship. She was never successful as I was one of the few who knew who she was, and I prayed against her activities from her arrival.

My point in all of this is that Satan and his demonic world targets pastors and their families. If he can bring the pastor down in some way, he is successful in weakening the church’s mission. Many times Satan will effectively use church members to cause grief and distraction for the pastor. Again, please be aware, pastors need your faithful prayers. Too many pastors become discouraged and resign churches and get out of ministry altogether. Sadly, others . . . too many others, even some of my good friends in ministry, have become so abused, distracted, and confused that . . . they have taken their own lives to bring the pain to an end.

I do not want to see the devil win over the church and her leaders this way anymore. I will pray for as many pastors as I can. Will you please join me to defeat the enemy and pray . . . pray for your pastor; pray for your church; pray for yourself? Pray On!
