Hope in Today Ministries, Inc. ~ Daily Devotion to God’s Holy Word, by Karen Rowe
Which version of the Bible awakes you to see your heart best? Today, we have in this post the NLT, ESV, ERV, & KJV. Would you like to dive into this Verse with me?
This is for me, but Scripture is for all human beings. So, if you would like to follow along with me, Let’s begin to evaluate our heart with God’s eyes, by looking at God’s Narrative for our life in His Written Verse of Today.
Let’s do one more thing together Today; Will you commit to pray for me? … & we, with Hope in Today, can join together to pray also for you, that we honor God Today in all we say, think, or do.
As we begin, know that this is my prayer for you, that you know you are not alone, nor forsaken! Jesus is strong enough to PRAY for you…
Let’s begin!
Am I being selfish in my heart about loving anyone well in Christ? Or am I being selfish in my heart about forgiving anyone for being human? Or am I thanking God for the people God has chosen to be in my life well? Am I being selfish in any way only loving the easy & those who love me well? Am I being selfish in the things I am doing? Am I sharing my time, talents & treasures in a right & humble way?
Lord, make my heart light to see all that I (have / need) belongs to YOU, SO THAT the Spirit of God is on all / no room for the Spirit of Self.
KJV~God paints a picture when Moses struck the Rock for water. The rock that followed them was the Spirit of Jesus (1 Corinthians 10:4), Christ is ALL WE NEED; the prelude to the Living Water. Yet Moses struck the Rock to please people.
Why was God upset with Moses for striking the rock a second time?
And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ (1 Corinthians 10:4).”
Why is this so important still Today?
To serve as a warning to us, because God loves us so. Reference 1 Co 10:6-7
But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust me enough to demonstrate my holiness to the people of Israel, you will not lead them into the land I am giving them!”
The Verse of Today
- NLT Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
Philippians 2:3-4 - ESV Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves…
Philippians 2:3-4 - ERV In whatever you do, don’t let selfishness or pride be your guide. Be humble, and honor others more than yourselves. …but care about the lives of others too.
Philippians 2:3-4 - KJV Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. …
Philippians 2:3-4
Lessons from Israel’s Idolatry
10 I don’t want you to forget, dear brothers and sisters,[a] about our ancestors in the wilderness long ago. All of them were guided by a cloud that moved ahead of them, and all of them walked through the sea on dry ground. 2 In the cloud and in the sea, all of them were baptized as followers of Moses. 3 All of them ate the same spiritual food, 4 and all of them drank the same spiritual water. For they drank from the spiritual rock that traveled with them, and that rock was Christ. 5 Yet God was not pleased with most of them, and their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.
6 These things happened as a warning to us, so that we would not crave evil things as they did, 7 or worship idols as some of them did.
…
I hope this inspires you to read on … GEt the Bible App and find a quiet place to let the Bible read aloud to you.
Hearing the Word of God read to me is ____ to me!
I would love how you “fill in” that blank when you hear God speak to you!
Thank You Jesus!
