90 Years Young and Still Going Strong For The Lord!

FGGAM Photo of Cowboy Deacon Dave Ryan! Dave and Dewey have had so many good conversations over the years in person and over the phone! Best friends forever!

I did not get to post this yesterday but our Dear Precious Friend Dave Ryan turned 90 yesterday! Sharon and I got to know Dave from filling in for Pastor Paul Holt one Sunday years ago at the First Baptist Church of Magdalena, NM.

I am so thrilled to call him a best friend! He is a Deacon at the Church, a solid man of God. His life preaches to me and many others. I pray that can be said of all of us! I love to say, “Do people see Jesus in you?” We sure see Jesus in Dave!

We love you Dave and your lovely bride Ruth! Happy Birthday young man of God! Young at heart that is for sure!!!

I took this picture of Dave, above, about a year ago or so when I last filled in for my best friend Pastor Paul Holt. We went out to lunch after Church and had a wonderful visit.

One of the huge blessings of circuit preaching is you get to get out and meet so many wonderful people. Rural New Mexico is a gold mine for dedicated Christians. I am so very blessed to meet these nuggets of truth! You haven’t preached until you have hit the road and travel God’s Country! AMEN!

Pastor Marvin Capehart, who passed on to glory years ago, taught me much about being a circuit preacher. Marvin hosted the radio program “Ask the Pastor” on KKIM Christian radio for years, the station I used to manage. He was always having his car fixed…..as he traveled many miles in his circuit preaching days and did not have the money to get a newer car. My prayer is that we don’t forget about the preachers and Churches in rural America. I will never forget the dedication of Pastor Marvin Capehart.

Hebrews 13:17

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

Proverbs 19:20

Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.

1 Peter 5:5

Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

Leviticus 19:32

“You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God: I am the Lord.
