As I was thinking on this post for Thanksgiving, I decided to ask Abba what type of post He would like. He said, “Write it from My perspective.”
Jesus was a thankful person.
Matthew 15:35-36 And He directed the multitude to sit down on the ground; and He took the seven loaves and the fish, and giving thanks, He broke them and started giving them to the disciples, and the disciples in turn, to the multitudes.
John 11:41-42 And so they removed the stone. And Jesus raised His eyes, and said, “Father, I thank Thee that Thou heardest Me. And I knew that Thou hearest Me always; but because of the people standing around I said it, that they may believe that Thou didst send Me.”
Luke 22:17 and 19 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He said, “Take this and share it among yourselves”… And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
Recently, I gave someone I love some socks. She said, “Oh my goodness! Thank you so much! I love these!”
It was my pleasure to surprise her with them and my heart was filled with joy at her delight!
Thankfulness is a perfect expression of the Father! If I was so filled with joy at being thanked, how much more is our Holy Father filled with joy when we thank Him?
The Father is thankful. We know this because Jesus is thankful, and He said, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father.” (John 14:9)
John 12:45 “And he who beholds Me beholds the One who sent Me.”
Colossians 1:15 And He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation.
During this Thanksgiving season, and beyond, let us bring our Father God joy and delight by remembering to thank Him in all things, and being the perfect expression of Him by thanking others.
Hebrews 1:3a And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature.
And so should we be. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
