The Eagle Has Landed. Again!

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.  – Isaiah 40:31

After attending a guided tour of the Faith Comes By Hearing ministry here in Albuquerque a few months ago, my wife and I began to pray that God would use us in this fruitful ministry that is now the largest audio Bible distributor in the world. We could certainly make a donation, which we did, but was there another way for us to get more directly involved?

After we became aware of  an audio device they produce called the Proclaimer, we found out that it would be ideal for reaching oral learners who cannot read or write, which applies to 900 million  people in the world.*

Our country of interest is the southern part of Nigeria. So we began to make inquiries through a contact there and found that the Proclaimer would be a perfect tool for reaching into the hundreds of rural villages in that area. It requires no outside electrical source, can hold up to four indigenous languages with the New Testament and has powerful speakers that can be heard clearly for up to 100 feet.

So we said, “Let’s see if we can get one in there.” And God did. Not once but twice!

Now our third “eagle,” as we refer to them has just landed and we are now working on the fourth one which will ship next week. In addition, we are processing requests for twelve more. We were richly blessed by this recent testimony from a Pastor who received one. He ministers on southern Nigeria’s western border with the country of Benin, an area which is highly Muslim:

“Sir, I want to confess that the Proclaimer is the greatest miracle that ever happened to us this  year. You wouldn’t believe how much we have been praying and trusting God for such a material because of the high rate of illiteracy in our communities. This indeed is a great miracle and we bless God for you. You can’t imagine how much it will go in blessing our people. We’re indeed very grateful. Thank you. God bless you. Shalom.” – Pastor Abraham O. Obed, Pilgrims Mission

Father, our hearts are filled with overflowing praise to You for allowing us to help fulfill the great commission through faithful servants in Nigeria, who with our help can reach thousands with the Gospel. We ask that you continue to make a way for us to send more Proclaimers into these fields that are “white for harvest” (John 4:35). In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Thank you for praying with us. Maranatha!
