Greatest Generation

Think about this sacrifice of many…..picture is from this week’s service at the Santa Fe National Cemetery for Ivan Emerson 91-year-old WWII Navy veteran. I was blessed and honored to be asked to officiate at this service, a Godly honor. I do not have the words to express my full feelings. My Dad served also in WWII, Dad passed away in 1993 at age 64.

The family told me that Ivan’s last words as he passed into Heaven were, “Bettie!” He called out his wife’s name!

I was asked this week, “Dewey what is your mission statement at FGGAM?” It is doing the work that the Lord assigns me, it is not of me, but of what God says to do each day, that is my life mission, to please God not man.

“But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.” -Acts 20:24

We must reflect on the fact that the greatest generation ever in America is passing away  very fast. The WWII generation represents what America was to be. Think and pray about it. We are failing to uphold their Godly standards, we actually have betrayed them. Can we return to such greatness?

Greatest Generation

Do all the good you can,

by all the means you can,

in all the ways you can,

in all the places you can,

at all the times you can,

to all the people you can,

as long as ever you can.

John Wesley

My prayer for you today is that you will take time to pray and reflect on what you are doing with your life to make the world a better place. What is your calling from God?
