Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. Psalm 33:12
God gives us His laws for our own good. He created us to walk in obedience and in righteousness. When we do that, we are living within the healthy boundaries He established and are protected from much of the heartache and disaster that Satan plans. But, when a nation turns away from God he removes His protective covering and allows that nation to experience the world it has yearned for.
This is why there’s a mandate to pray for those in leadership. They should have our nations best interest at heart. All who call on the Lord are blessed in the deepest sense, and none can reverse the blessing. We should be praying that our Leaders make wise decisions because ultimately those decisions affect us.
We should pray for our leaders—that God would give them wisdom and cause them to promote the sanctity of life and promote peace. We should pray for those making decisions for our unborn children who are our future.
Together, as the church, we can change the world! One prayer at a time.
