Thank you Pastor Richard Mansfield of New Beginnings Church in Albuquerque for sharing this sign with us!!!
How does this sign speak to you? It is one of those signs that has a different meaning to us all, I am sure.
For me, I love to garden. I grow roses, I love to give them to Sharon! I take pride in our property, to make sure the grass, trees, shrubs, rose bushes and trees are in all in good shape. A couple of years ago an Albuquerque Police Officer stopped in front of the house and thanked me for taking care of our property! How about that! He said that it is proven that when neighborhoods take care of their property, it does not attract crime! It’s that ‘broken window’ rule. Keep things nice and tidy and the less chance the crooks come.
In another way the sign speaks to my old fashion values. Take responsibility for yourself. Be responsible. Do not rely on others to make good things happen for yourself, work to succeed in all things. I just adore our young people who do so and I affirm them in many ways when I meet them. Our five kids work very hard.
Way too many people rely on others for their happiness and success. Many sit back and blame others for their problems. I am thankful for my Dad and Mom who taught me this at a young age. I started working at age 8, as a paper boy, and I have never stopped working! Too many do not know what it is to work.
For each one should carry their own load. Galatians 6:5
Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else. Galatians 6:4
