Lord, like You told Israel, You have said You do not do this for our sake, but for Your holy name’s sake, which we have profaned among the nations wherever you went.
You were referring to cleansing our hearts. You will sanctify Your great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which we have profaned in their midst. Our actions have caused this profanity. When You do this, the nations shall know that You are the Lord, when You are made Holy in us before their eyes. You will take us from among the world, and bring us into Your Promised land. It’s there that You will sprinkle clean water on us, and we shall be clean from all our filthiness and from all our idols. We will need to put aside all the things we treasure in this world. You will give us a new heart and put a new spirit within us. You take our hearts of stone out and give hearts of flesh. You put Your Spirit within us and cause us to walk in Your statutes. It is then that we will keep Your Judgments and do them. Then we shall be Your People, and You will be our God. You will deliver us from all our uncleannesses. You will call for the grain and multiply it, and bring no famine upon us. And You will multiply the fruit of our trees and the increase of our fields, so that we need never again bear the reproach of famine among the nations. Then we will remember our evil ways and our deeds that were not good. We will loathe ourselves in our own sight, for our iniquities and our abominations. You don’t do this for our sake but For Your Holy Name. We are ashamed and confounded for our own ways. Even though You do this for Your Holy Name, we thank You for cleansing us. We hope to grow with You Lord. In Jesus Name, Amen. (Taken From Ezekiel 36:22-32)
